Description |
At the entrance, recently built stupa is visible. To the south is a bodhi. This bodhi which belongs to the vihara premises comes from an early period of time. It has two small image houses on either side. The bodhi prakara has been built recently. Close to the bodhi, preaching hall has been constructed. While there are half walls around the preaching hall, from all four sides there are doors to enter. The roof is sustained by high huge pillars rose up with the walls. Edging to the high elevated pulpit there are four pillars. The middle part which is covered with timber and its roof is supported by those pillars. The avasage that was built recently is to the south of the preaching hall. All these buildings that are constructed parallel to the high way have been built during the last century. |

he above cave has been used as an image house (len-vihara) and there are sculptures and wall paintings which belong to Kandy period. . They have been re-painted on 1872.3 The level of the natural land in front of the cave is little below |
