Description |
had constructed the image houses and made images there. At the entrance of the image houses site there can be seen only a simple gateway which has only a roof erected on four stone pillars. While the bodhi is to the north of the premises the stupa is to the east. In the centre of the premises is the viharage. The viharage which has constructed on the high platform has two main parts. The frontal porch is of ten pillars with carvings of the same pattern. Next is a door with a makara torana carved at its end which has two figures of guards. After entering there is a small room and a cella (shrine). |
Things to See |
That part is in the middle of the building and it is surrounded with a narrow corridor. Near the back wall of the shrine is a medium sized sedent Image of Lord Buddha. It has a calmer look than the other images of Kandyan tradition. |
